The hardest part was reliability on longer processing tasks: handling failed requests, keeping application state intact, validating AI-generated outputs, and making sure incomplete operations could be identified and recovered. It is the same discipline long-running agents need: visibility into what each task is doing, whether it actually completed, and what should happen when something fails.

Filter / Project Sway
A multi-tenant AI SaaS platform Luigi built end to end: architecture, frontend, backend, API integrations, the AI classification engine, background processing, and dashboards. Filter processes unstructured customer and social data, classifies it with AI, and transforms the results into structured business information.
Under the hood: background jobs, queues, webhooks, confidence scoring, structured outputs, validation, retry handling, and human-review workflows. A key design choice was separating AI decisions from execution logic. Instead of trusting an AI response as proof of success, the application checks the output, tracks processing state, and decides whether a task can continue or needs review.
